Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Last updated: 23 June 2026

Australian Financial Freedom Pty Ltd trading as Managed Portfolios (ABN 91 139 960 080, AFSL 484998) operates LicenseeFinder (licenseefinder.com.au) (the “Service”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we handle your personal information. By using the Service, you agree to the handling of your information as described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following types of personal information:

  • Account information: the email address you provide when you sign up or log in.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you have opted in to receive updates from us.
  • Licensee claim information: if you claim or list a licensee, the name, business email, phone number, role and any message you provide.
  • Usage information: technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information and pages viewed, collected automatically when you use the site.

2. How we collect it

  • Directly from you — when you sign up, log in, submit a claim or contact us.
  • Automatically — through cookies and similar technologies as you use the site.
  • From public sources — licensee information is drawn from the ASIC AFS Licensee Register and Financial Adviser Register. This is business information and is generally not personal information about you.

3. Why we collect and use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • Authenticate you and provide access through our passwordless (magic-link) login.
  • Operate, maintain, secure and improve the Service.
  • Respond to your enquiries and licensee claim requests.
  • Send you service-related communications (for example, login links and important notices).
  • Where you have consented, send you marketing communications about new licensees, features and market insights.
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Direct marketing and your consent

We will only send you marketing communications where you have consented to receive them — for example, by opting in when you sign up. To unsubscribe, reply to any marketing email with "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the subject line; please allow up to 2 business days for your request to take effect. You can also contact us at admin@managedportfolios.com.au. We handle marketing in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Opting out of marketing does not affect service-related emails such as login links.

5. Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • Service providers who help us operate the Service — including hosting, database, authentication and email delivery providers.
  • Our professional advisers, where reasonably necessary.
  • Government, regulatory or law enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

7. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, although some features of the Service may not function properly as a result.

8. Security of your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including by using reputable third-party infrastructure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at admin@managedportfolios.com.au. You may also ask us to delete your account, which removes your login record. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first.

10. Complaints

If you have a concern or complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first at admin@managedportfolios.com.au so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown above. Material changes will take effect when published.
